First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

The fourth work in Burgess's titled collection of 'Exotic Titles'. 'Devil of a State' is based upon Burgess's experiences living and working in Brunei. Owing to issues concerning libel, the work is set in the fictional area called Dunia. Anthony Burgess is best known for his dystopian satire 'A Clockwork Orange'.

Condition

In a red cloth binding in the original price clipped dustwrapper. Externally in lovely condition, with just some very minor shelfwear to the extremities. Dustwrapper is price clipped. Dustwrapper is very smart, with some edgewear and minor chipping to the extremities and head and tail of the spine. Wrap is slightly sunned, heavier to the spine. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, with just some very marginal age toning.
