1961 A Picture Postcard Album... A Mirror of the Times
What Our Customers Say...
Description
Decorative Binding, First Edition, Illustrated, Scarce
First edition, in felt covered cloth boards, of this collection of postcards from 1961. As the title suggests, the portfolio is intended to be a 'mirror of the times'.
Include an essay by Anatole Jakavsky entitled 'Send me a card while you are away,' in which he discusses the significance of post cards in the twentieth century.
Includes a variety of monochrome post cards, mostly photography, with some humorous early attempts at photo manipulation and illusion. This collection is almost like a time capsule of 1960s affluence and prosperity.
Includes four postcard illustrations to the front board.
Condition
In cloth binding with felt covered boards. Externally, very smart. There is only minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and the extremities. The felt boards are dusty and slightly worn. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
