A set of eight tales by Beatrix Potter, collecting together a handful of her beloved charming children's tales, all with her original colourful illustrations. 

This set includes;

'The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher', dated 1962. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, and twenty-six colour plates. Collated, complete.

'The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle', dated 1963. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, and twenty-six colour plates. Collated, complete.

'The Tale of Johnny Town-Mouse', dated 1964. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, and twenty-six colour plates. Collated, complete.

'Appley Dapply's Nursery Rhymes', dated 1964. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, and thirteen colour plates. Collated, complete.

Condition

In the original publisher's paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. A few light marks to the boards. Boards of 'Appley Dapply's' are a little heavier marked, with loss to the onlay to the front board. Marks to the boards of 'Mr. Tod' are a little heavier. Small dents to the rear board of 'Two Bad Mice', a small amount of wear to the head and tail of the joints. Spine of 'Johnny Town-Mouse' is a little faded, with rubbing to the joints. Mr. Tod joints are rubbed with some lifting to the paper. 'Flopsy Bunnies' spine is faded. Front hinge is starting to Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle. Bookseller's label to the front paste down of 'Two Bad Mice', and 'Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle'. Star sticker to the recto of the front endpaper of 'Jeremy Fisher'. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper of 'Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle', and 'Johnny Town-Mouse'. Pencil marks to the recto of the front endpaper of 'Mrs. Tittlemouse'. Internally, firmly bound, though 'Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle' is generally firmly bound, and the binding is strained to 'Two Bad Mice', some pages working loose. Pages are bright and clean with a few scattered spots. Aged tape repair to the frontispiece and title page of 'Two Bad Mice', as well as to page 11/12, alongside amateur ink to page 9. Amateur ink to the frontispiece of 'Mr. Tod', and to the front paste down.
