In the original slipcase, in a very good condition.

'The Two Towers', both the book and dust wrapper are the ninth impression. 

'The Return of the King', both the book and dust wrapper are the ninth impression. 

J. R. R. Tolkien's fantastically popular trilogy, one of, if not the most popular pieces of fantasy every written. The series follows Frodo and his fellowship as they journey through Middle-Earth on a quest to destroy a powerful ring and stop the growth of a rising dark power.

Illustrated with a folding map to the rear of each volume.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrappers, and the original publisher's slipcase. Externally, smart. A touch of fading to the head of the spines. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper of each volume. Dust wrappers are edge worn, large chip to the front wrap of 'Return of the King', smaller chips and closed tears to the other two dust wrappers. Wraps are a touch age-toned with light handling marks. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a few very occasional scattered spots. Slipcase is a little worn and rubbed to the extremities, with a small tear to the head. Light handling marks to the slipcase, which is in a very good condition.
