Volume one is illustrated with a frontispiece, twenty plates, and six maps. Volume two is illustrated with a frontispiece, thirty-five plates, and fifteen maps. Volume three is illustrated with a frontispiece, twenty-nine plates, and fourteen maps. Collated complete. Written by Sir Charles Kingsley Webster, a British diplomat and historian, and Anthony Noble Frankland, a British historian who served as Director General of the Imperial War Museum.

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrappers are also very smart with minor wear to the extremities and sunning to the spines. The odd small mark to the panels. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
