The Thoroton Society is Nottinghamshire's principal historical and archaeological society. It was founded in 1897 and named after Dr Robert Thoroton who, in 1677, published the first history of the county.

Condition
In the original wraps or card covers. Externally, very smart, with minor edge wear only to most. With sunning and light spotting to the covers of 'Borough Ditch'. With taped reference numbers to the front covers of 'Borough Ditch' and 'Newark Market Place'. Ink impression to the front cover of 'Market Place' and label to front cover of 'Hospital'. Eaton Hall institutional bookplate to the inside of 'Market Place' front cover, and Nottinghamshire County Council ink impression to the inside of 'Cesspit' front cover. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, with institutional ink impression to first page of 'Market Place', otherwise clean.
