1961-1963 Drivers Wild; Drivers Wildest
What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding
The first edition, first impression of each work.
Two delightful volumes from motoring enthusiast and artist Red Daniells, in which he examines the 'contemporary phenomenon' of wild drivers.
Present here are 'Drivers Wild', published in 1961, and 'Drivers Wildest', dated 1963.
Each bear the inscription 'John Rolf, Publisher' to the front pastedown. The publishing house Scorpion Press, who operated from 1959 to the early 1970s, produced these works. Penguin took over the publishing of Daniells's books in 1965.
These amusing works present the difficulties which can be encountered on the roads, in particular when driving near 'inconsiderate, incompetent, suicidal, homicidal, dawdling or speeding - IDIOTS', as Daniells puts it.
Wonderfully illustrated with monochrome sketches of some of the wild drivers found on the roads.
