First edition. Illustrated throughout. Written in blank verse, this collection of poetry is an autobiography describing the author's earliest memories of a middle-class home in London, through to his departure from the University of Oxford. The work was adapted into a television film in 1976. Written by John Betjeman, an English poet, writer, and broadcaster who was poet laureate from 1972 until his death in 1984. Illustrated by Michael Tree, a British artist and illustrator.

Condition

In the original green cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper is sound with light wear to the extremities and marks or spots to the boards. The odd small closed tear to the panel edges with a 7" closed tear to the rear panel. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Light scattered spotting to the first and last few pages with minor age toning to the endpapers.
