‘The Elder Statesman’ is a play in verse by T. S. Eliot, concerning a retired Cabinet minister, Lord Claverton, who is idly fingers the empty pages of his once-crowded engagement book.
This play was originally produced at the Edinburgh Festival in 1958, by Henry Sherek and E. Martin Brown.
Condition
In the original publisher’s cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. A few light marks to the cloth. Very light shelf wear to the head and tail of the spine. Spots to the endpapers. Dust wrapper is a little edge worn, heavier to the head of the spine. Wraps are a little spotted and discoloured. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
