First edition. Illustrated throughout with mapped endpapers. Following on from "People of the Deer", this work explores the new reality for the lives of the Ihalmiut, a small population of Inuit, after they had been deported from their own lands by white men claiming the space. Written by Farley McGill Mowat, a Canadian writer and environmentalist. Illustrated by Rosemary Kilbourn, a Canadian printmaker, illustrator and stained glass artist known for her work in the wood engraving.

Condition

In the original full black cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with minor wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
