The first edition of this work, in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original price-clipped dust wrapper.

A twentieth-century reworking of Henry Mayhew's 'London Labour and the London Poor', this work provides a satirical look at the underbelly of the capital city by Alex Atkinson.

Illustrated with a frontispiece, and many illustrations throughout by Ronald Searle, a leading English satirical cartoonist, best remembered for creating St. Trinian's School.

Collated, complete.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Dust wrapper remains smart and bright, with very light edgewear and sunning to the upper extremities, and a small closed tear to the bottom of the front of the wrap.
