Illustrated with four colour plates, sixty-seven images across thirty-two plates, and numerous in-text images. Collated complete. An exploration of the immemorial crop of tea, originally grown and manufactured by peasants. With chapters on the development of tea culture, climate and soils, botanical characteristics, planting material, cultivation, manufacture, the tea trade and industry, and more. Written by T. Eden, the former director of the Tea Research Institute of East Africa.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also smart with light wear and the odd small closed tear to the extremities. The odd small mark. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd ink inscription. A contemporary ink inscription and the bookseller's label to the front pastedown, with small tape marks to the pastedowns.
