The third and last of Baron's great books on the ballet, exploring the photographer's intensely personal appreciation of dancing in its many forms. With sections on the French ballet, American ballet, musicals, festival ballet, the Bolshoi Theatre, the Royal Danish Ballet, and more. With an introduction and commentary from Baron's collaborator Arnold Lionel David Haskell, a British dance critic who founded the Camargo Society in 1930. With Ninette de Valois, he was influential in the development of the Royal Ballet School, later becoming the school's headmaster.
Condition
In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with minor wear to the extremities and the odd very small mark to the panels. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd small spot to the endpapers. Bookseller's label to the front pastedown.
