Translated from the original English into Italian by Carlo Rossi Fantonetti.

The first Italian language edition of this work, which was first published in 1951.

Signed and inscribed by O'Hara to the half title, in Italian, and with an Italianised version of his name. The inscription reads: 'To Jean Purcelli Valentino com amore, Giovanni d'Hara, 28 April 1958, Boston'.

A translation of the novel 'The Farmer's Hotel', in which a group of strangers are stranded in rural Pennsylvania due to a sudden snowfall. The owner and his small staff must host the group of misfits from all walks of society.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Back strip a touch age toned, with boards exceptionally bright. Inscription to front free endpaper. Small closed tear to cloth towards the head of the rear joint. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright, though a touch age toned to perimeters.
