This set contains:
Bradwardine and the Pelagians by Gordon Leff (1957)
Medieval Latin and the Rise of European Love-Lyric by Peter Dronke (1965)
Leff's Bradwardine is a theological study of the philosophy of 14th-century theologian Thomas Bradwardine and his 'De causa Dei' treatise, a system of thought defending God's role as the first cause of all actions.
Dronke's Medieval Latin illuminates the development of vernacular love-lyric in medieval Europe, showing it in relation to the Latin poetry of the time and to the world of ideas that Latin made accessible.
