A retelling of the familiar stories of Genesis, from Jacob to Joseph, in the historical context of the Amarna Period, consisting of: The Stories of Jacob, Young Joseph, Joseph in Egypt, and Joseph the Provider. Written by Paul Thomas Mann, a German novelist, short story writer, social critic, philanthropist, essayist, and winner of the 1929 Nobel Prize in Literature. Translated by Helen Tracy Lowe-Porter, an American translator and writer.

Condition

In the original black cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also smart with light wear and minor chipping to the extremities. Light sunning to the spine with the odd small closed tear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper.
