    Lawrence's 'The Mint' is a memoir of his experiences as an enlisted man in the Royal Air Force; working from a notebook he kept while enlisted, Lawrence wrote of the daily lives of fellow servicemen and about his feelings towards the RAF.

    The book was published posthumously, edited by his brother Prof. A. W. Lawrence.

    Though noted as flawed by critics, this work is notable for its sharp observation and the insight it gives into Lawrence as a person, and for the censorship issues around its publication.

    Condition

    In the publisher's original quarter morocco binding, with cloth covered boards. With paper covered slip case. Externally, fine. Slip case in very good condition, with bumps to back strip head and tail, and significant handling marks to boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright, with only the odd spot.
