The first edition of Herrick's poems to be selected, arranged and illustrated by Sir William Russell Flint.

Illustrated with forty-two collotype reproductions of paintings, sketches and drawings from Scottish artist and illustrator Flint.

Robert Herrick was a seventeenth century poet and cleric, better known for his 'carpe diem' poem titled 'To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time,' with the first line being "Gather ye rosebuds while ye may." This volume comprises titles such as 'An Hymne to Cupid,' 'To the Water Nymphs,' 'Comfort to a Lady,' and many more.

In the publisher's original quarter paper vellum, with slip case.

Condition

In a quarter paper vellum binding, with cloth covered board, in cloth covered slip case. Externally, fine. Fading to back strip and perimeters of front board of slip case. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
