A scarce first edition.

Originally designed by Sir Christopher Wren and completed in the 18th century, this work celebrates the redecoration of the Chapel after the War, documenting the restoration carried out under the auspices of the Ministry of Works, necessitated by damage sustained during WWII.

Illustrated with three large vibrant photographic colour plates, retaining tissue guards. Collated, complete.

Condition

In the publisher's original quarter cloth bindings, with paper vellum covered boards. Handling marks to paper vellum, otherwise externally excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
