An impressive collection of fifteen works that were published for The New Naturalist series by Collins publishers.
Each in the original dust wrappers and original cloth bindings.
Each work is adorned with colour and monochrome plates, as well as maps, diagrams and in-text illustrations.
This set covers a broad range of natural history subjects relevant to the British Isles.
The aim of the series was "To interest the general reader in the wildlife of Britain by recapturing the inquiring spirit of the old naturalists".
This set holds various editions of volumes: 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 37, 36, 44, 45, 52, 57, 60, 63 and 66. Those without edition remarks can be assumed to be first editions.

In the original cloth bindings. In the original dust wrappers. 'Man and the Land', 'Mountain Flowers', 'Woodland Birds', 'Moths', 'Peak District', 'History of Wales', 'British Thrushes' and 'Insect Migration' dust wrappers are clipped. Externally, very smart with shelf wear. Dust wrappers are smart with slight sunning, heaviest to the spines. With minor edgewear. Large chips to the spine head and tail and closed tears to the wrap of 'Man and the Land'. Handling marks, heaviest to 'Peak District', 'World of Plankton', and 'Man and the Land'. Scattered spotting to the wraps of 'Woodland Birds' and 'Trees, Woods'. Scorch mark to the fly leaf of 'World of Soil'. Internally, firmly bound with generally bright and clean pages throughout each. Spotting to the endpapers of 'Peak District' and 'The Common Lands'. Contemporary ink inscription to 'The Common Lands' front free endpaper.
