First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

The first complete edition in book form, first impression. A heavily abridged edition of the first half of the play had been published in 1952.

In the publisher's original price unclipped dust wrapper.

'Under Milk Wood' was a radio drama commissioned by the BBC, and later adapted for the stage. 

In this play, the omniscient narrator invites the audience to listen to the dreams and innermost thoughts of the inhabitants of Llareggub, a small Welsh fishing village.

With the former owner's inscription of 'from Appy to Arnold and Marjorie 1926-1988' to the front free endpaper.

A lovely first edition of one of Thomas's best known works.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price unclipped dust wrapper. Bumping to back strip head and tail, otherwise externally excellent. Inscription to front free endpaper. Light sunning to dust wrapper back strip, with light edgewear to back strip tail, and chipping to back strip head. Minor loss to head of rear wrap, with wraps bright. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
