‘The Confidential Clerk’ is a popular comic verse play by T. S. Eliot, first performed at the 1953 Edinburgh Festival before being published the following year.
This amusing yet touching play surrounds a wealthy entrepreneur who attempts to smuggle his illegitimate son into his household under the pretence of acting as his "confidential clerk".

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart, with light marks to the boards. Minor edge wear to the dust wrapper. Spine is sunned. Light spots and handling marks to the dust wrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
