‘The Confidential Clerk’ is a popular comic verse play by T. S. Eliot, first performed at the 1953 Edinburgh Festival before being published the following year.
This amusing yet touching play surrounds a wealthy entrepreneur who attempts to smuggle his illegitimate son into his household under the pretence of acting as his "confidential clerk".
Condition
In the original publisher’s cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Extremities are a little faded. A few light marks to the cloth. Spots to the fore edge and endpapers. Very light edge wear to the dust wrapper. Wraps are a little disclosed, with spots. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a few scattered spots.
