This play was first performed at the 1953 Edinburgh Festival before being published. It concerns a wealth entrepreneur who decides to smuggle his illegitimate son Colby into the household by employing him as a clerk. The play was a great success at Edinburgh before transferring to the West End and embarking on a UK tour.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. With unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, very smart with some minor bumping to the head of front board. Minor fading to the extremities which are rubbed. Dustwrapper is very smart. Minor sunning to the spine. Small chips to the head and tail of spine. Minor closed tear to the head of rear joint. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
