The first edition. 

The author's presentation copy, inscribed by the author to Ambrose Heal; "Sir Ambrose Heal from his Swedish friend Carl Malmsten X-mas1 955". The work also includes two letters thanking the author, written by Heal. Ambrose Heal was a furniture designer who is best known for being the Chairman of the popular furniture store 'Heal's' (Heal and Son). 

Heavily illustrated throughout with monochrome photographic illustrations and diagrams. 

A study on Swedish interior design and furniture by the noted Swedish furniture designer and architect Carl Malmsten, discussing his own furniture designs and products. The work is written in three different languages, being in English, Dutch and French. 

In the publisher's original cloth and the original unclipped dust wrapper.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely with only the odd slight mark to the rear board. Spotting to the endpapers with author's signature to the front free endpaper. The wrap has a closed tear to the rear joint, sunning to the spine and extremities, slight marks, and light spotting. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with only the odd spot to the front. The letter is sunned with spotting.
