The first edition, first impression of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original price-clipped dust wrapper. The first issue, with periods after the words 'sailors' to pages 3 and 11.
Previous owner's ink inscription to the front free end paper.
This work collects works from Welsh poet Dylan Thomas's BBC broadcasts. It includes short stories, autobiographical sketches and essays, and includes the hilarious 'A Visit to America', and criticism of Sir Philip Sydney and Wilfred Owen.
Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally, generally bright and smart. Damp staining to the boards. Spine is slightly cocked. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for tide marks to the first and last couple of pages. Dust wrapper is bright and smart, with a little chipping to the head and tail of the spine and light marks to the rear of the wrap.
