Sir John Betjeman was a poet, writer and broadcaster, and served as Poet Laureate from 1972 until his death.
Betjeman's poems are often humorous, and in broadcasting he exploited his bumbling and fogeyish image. The poems of this work are divided into three groups - Medium, Light and Gloom.
Condition
In the original cloth binding. Externally, with sunning to the spine and minor shelf wear. Light spotting to the front title plate and light marks to the boards. Bookplate of one T&M James to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned with the odd spot. Contemporary ink inscription to the front free endpaper.
