Setting out from Colombia and Venezuela to Brazil and aiming to be the first white people to ever join the Amazon across the famous Sierra Parima. Written by Alain Gheerbrant, a French writer, editor, poet and explorer, noted for his expedition in the basins of Amazonian rivers. Translated by Edward Fitzgerald, a British translator.

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper is smart with light wear and the odd small closed tear to the panel edges. The odd small mark or spot. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Light spotting to the endpapers.
