The authors, Evelyn V. Baxter and Leonora Jeffrey Rintoul, look into the idea that the bird-life of Scotland fluctuates considerably, and more than any other European country.
Illustrated with a colour frontispiece to each volume, one colour folding map to the rear of Volume II, eleven monochrome plates to Volume I, and thirteen monochrome plates to Volume II.
Collated, complete.
Rintoul and Baxter were lifelong friends and co-authors of various ornithological works.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth bindings, in the original price-clipped dust wrappers. Externally, smart. A few light marks to the boards and spines. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spines. Spots to the fore edges and endpapers. Dust wrappers a little edge worn with a few small closed tears and chips. Spots to the wraps. Spines are a little age-toned. Light rubbing to the joints. Internally, firmly bound Pages are bright and clean, with the occasional scattered spots.
