This was the ninth attempt of reaching the summit of Everest. Written by Henry Cecil John Hunt, a British Army officer who is best known as the leader of the successful 1953 British expedition to Mount Everest. With a foreword by H.R.H The Duke of Edinburgh and chapter sixteen by Edmund Hilary. The appendices are written by various participants in the exhibition and comprise a diary of events and an account of preparations for the expedition including oxygen equipment.
