First edition, first impression. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and five colour plates. Collated complete. The forty-fifth book in the Biggles series. A battle of wits set in the vivid blue of the West Indian skies amongst the flamingoes. Written by William Earl Johns, an English First World War pilot and writer of adventure stories, who wrote under the pen name Capt. W. E. Johns. He is best known for creating the fictional air-adventurer Biggles. Illustrated by Leslie Stead, a British artist and illustrator who worked on many of the books in this series.

Condition

In the original full grey cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light bumping to the extremities. Original price-clipped dust wrapper is also smart with light chipping and the odd small closed tear to the extremities. Minor sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Lacking front free endpaper. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot.
