Illustrated, Leather Binding, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding
French. Volume II of a III volume set only. Illustrated throughout with numerous black-and-white figures and photographs. From The Second World War is a history of the period from the end of the First World War to July 1945, written by Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill, a British statesman, military officer, and writer who served twice as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Compiled with a team of assistants, using both his own notes and privileged access to official documents while still serving as Leader of the Opposition; the book is considered by historians as incomplete memoir by a leading participant in the direction of the war. Churchill was largely fair in his treatment, but wrote the history from his personal point of view, and was unable to reveal all facts for security intelligence purposes. This volume contains Their Finest Hour, The Grand Alliance, and The Hinge of Fate, originally published as volumes two, three, and four of the six volume first edition in English.
