First edition, first impression. Illustrated throughout. The forty-first book in the Biggles series. A collection of short assignments tackled by Biggles and Co. which take them from the Scottish Highlands to a native compound in Africa. Written by William Earl Johns, an English First World War pilot and writer of adventure stories, who wrote under the pen name Capt. W. E. Johns. He is best known for creating the fictional air-adventurer Biggles. Illustrated by Leslie Stead, a British artist and illustrator who worked on many of the books in this series.
Condition
In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with minor rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. The odd small mark to the boards. Original unclipped dust wrapper is sound with light chipping resulting in minor loss to the extremities. Minor sunning to the spine with the odd mark to the panels. The odd small closed tear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light scattered spotting to the first and last few pages. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper.
