Description
First Edition, Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
A 3 volume collection of first edition titles by H. E. Bates in lovely condition.
This collection is made up of three titles, published between 1952 and 1964: a book of short stories that takes its name from the 1847 Tennyson poem, and two novels, including a first edition copy of the semi-autobiographical 'Love For Lydia', one of Bates' more famous works.
Bates' signature countryside setting leaves its mark on both novels - including the fictional town of Evensford, which takes inspiration from Bates' own hometown of Rushden, in Northamptonshire.
