Previously owned by a member of Holbrook Jackson's family, with their owner's stamps to the endpapers and fore edge. Jackson wrote a biography on Bernard Shaw, with Shaw financing his Christian Socialist weekly magazine, 'The New Age'.
A biographical work on the noted Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw, written by his private secretary 'Blanch Patch', providing unique insight into his life from someone who had personal access to his life.
In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely. Stamp belonging to 'M. G. Jackson', and a past owner's inscription to the front endpapers. The dust wrapper has spotting small chips and closed tears to the extremities, and slight loss to the head of the front. Internally firmly bound with age toned pages with only the odd spot. 'M. G. Jackson' stamps to fore edge.
