    The first edition of this work. 

    Complete in four volumes. With a supplement volume published in 1969, not included here. 

    In the publisher's original green cloth binding. 

    Wonderfully illustrated throughout with in-text figures. 


    Gathered here is a terrific source of information and advice regarding gardening, commercial plants, cultivation techniques, botanical and gardening terms, pests, common names and more.

    Edited, with assistance by specialist, by Fred J. Chittenden, the first director of the Royal Horticultural Society, Wisley Garden. 


    Condition

    In the original green cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages, with the odd spotting to the endpapers.
