This account of the life and constitutions of Lanfranc was translated from the original Latin into English by David Knowles, with the original Latin to the left hand pages and the English on the right. Lanfranc was a medieval Benedictine monk who served as the Archbishop of Canterbury following the conquest by William the Conqueror.

In the publisher's original cloth, lacking scarce dust wrapper. Externally excellent with only the slightest shelf wear and minor fading to the spine. Past owner's signature to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with the odd spot to the front and rear and fore edge.
