Illustrated vibrantly in colour throughout, this is Volume 4, No. 3 of the Japanese children's magazine プレイメート. Printed in February 1951, and issued on March 1st of the same year.
To the rear wrap is the notice that this work was 'planned by the Japan-US Educational Book Research Association'.
A charming children's work produced in Hiroshima city only six years after the atomic bomb 'Little Boy' was dropped by the USAFF, and during the period in which the city was under occupation from the British Empire, when it was being rebuilt.
A fascinating children's work hailing from an important period and location in the aftermath of the Pacific War.
Condition
In the publisher's original illustrated paper wraps. Externally, exceptionally bright, with small closed tear to front wrap head. Rubbing to back strip. Internally, only the top staple is present and intact, resulting in the tail of the text block being detached. Pages clean and bright.
