William T. Innes was an American aquarist, photographer and publisher who wrote a number of influential books and articles on aquarium fish, aquatic plants and aquarium maintenance during the formative years of the aquarium hobby in America.
This work serves as a reference to the principles and management of an aquarium as well as the classification, breeding, collecting, transporting and practices of exotic fishes. With descriptions of characins, carps, anabantids, cichlids and more.
Adorned throughout with photographic illustrations by the author, including a colour tipped-in frontispiece and numerous in-text colour and monochrome images.
Condition
In the original cloth binding. Externally, very smart indeed, with sunning to the spine label and minor rubbing to the extremities. A couple marks to the front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean, with an ink ownership and scribbled out gift inscription to the title page. With light spotting to the first and last pages only.
