First edition. Illustrated throughout. A light comic horror tale set against the backdrop of an evening meal during which several ghouls try to kill each other off to inherit the Larches, a haunted castle. Written by Harry Hearson, a British author, and John Courtenay Trewin, a British journalist, writer and drama critic. Illustrated by Ronald William Fordham Searle, an English artist and satirical cartoonist, comics artist, sculptor, medal designer and illustrator, best remembered as the creator of St Trinian's School.
Condition
In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with fading to the extremities. Original price-clipped dust wrapper is sound with light wear and chipping to the extremities. Light loss to the head of the spine with small closed tears and creases to the panel edges. Sunning to the spine with the odd small mark. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot and light age toning to the endpapers.
