Two fascinating volumes covering the work of influential Italian writer Francesco Petrarca, volumes 6 and 7 in the Riccardo Ricciardi series La Letturatura Italiana Storia E Testi, directed by Raffaele Mattioli, Pietro Pancrazi and Alfredo Schaffiani.

In the publisher's original cloth, in the original dust wrappers and brown paper slipcases. Volume 6 dust wrapper is clipped, while volume 7 dust wrapper is unclipped.

Petrarca's fourteenth century writings inspired countless of thinkers and helped kickstart the Renaissance in Europe. Volume 6 contains his influential poetry that forged the international phenomenon of Petrarchism. Volume 7 focuses on his prose, which made him regarded by many as 'The Father of Humanism' to this day.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth, in the original dust wrappers and slipcases. Externally, in excellent condition, with very minor bumping to board extremities. Dust wrappers are very smart, with minimal signs of shelf wear to extremities. Slight sunning and the very faint spot to wrapper spines. Spotting to top and spine of volume 7 slip case. Slight spotting to top of volume 6 slipcase. Occasional mark and minor shelf wear to cases, with creases to volume 6 slip case. End papers are bright and clean. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
