The first edition, first impression. 

Part of the 'New Naturalist' series. 

Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, monochrome plates, monochrome vignettes and forty-seven colour plates. Collated complete. 

This botanical work was written by Wilfred Blunt with the assistance of William T. Stearn, and provides a study on botanical illustrations, with many beautiful colour depictions of flowers and plants. 

In the publisher's original cloth with the original clipped dust wrapper.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth with the original clipped dust wrapper. Externally very smart with fading to the spine and boards. Light offsetting to the endpapers. The wrap is smart with sunning to the spine, spotting to the rear, and the odd minimal chip to the extremities. Internally firmly bound with generally bright and clean pages with only the odd minor spot and the slightest age toning to the extremities.
