Two charming editions on the daring adventures of the iconic hero Biggles, The Cruise of the Condor and Biggles Flies Again, written by W.E. Johns and published by Thames Publishing in 1950. First published in 1933 and 1934 respectively.

In the publisher's original cloth with pictorial glazed boards. Both books contain a frontispiece, as well as four other colour plates and numerous in-text illustrations. Collated Complete.

Despite being fictional tales, Johns paid close attention to historical detail and the hero was a composite of many Royal Fighter Corps veterans, including himself. The Cruise of the Condor, the second in the series, was an interwar adventure set in South America, while Biggles Flies Again, the fourth in the series, is a collection of thirteen small interwar stories that include treasures, spies and recues.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth with pictorial glazed boards. Externally, smart with minimal scratches. A mark near title to Biggles Flies Again. Small signs of shelfwear, with bumping to the extremities of The Cruise of the Condor. Slight fading to spines, heavier to Condor. End papers are generally clean with the odd spot. Spotting heavier to rear end papers of Condor, including on the last leaf. An ink gift inscription to Biggles Flies Again and and a small ink inscription to Condor from previous owner. Small closed tear to hinge of Biggles flies again. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with slight spotting to title leaf of Biggles Flies Again.
