Covers the period from Peace at its Zenith 1922-1931 to Naval losses in the Norwegian campaign April-June 1940. With fourteen maps and diagrams. Volume II Their Finest Hour, 1955. Fifth edition. Covers the period from the National coalition to desert victory and ocean peril. With twenty illustrations, three of which are on folding plates. Collated complete. Volume III The Grand Alliance, 1950. First edition. Covers the period from the widening war to Anglo-American accords. With twenty-four illustrations, three of which are on folding plates. Collated complete. Volume IV The Hinge of Fate, 1951. Second edition. Covers the period from the onslaught of Japan to the redemption of Africa. Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrappers are sound with light wear and the odd small closed tear to the extremities. Sunning to the spines with the odd small mark. Minor loss to the head of the spine of volume III with a 1" closed tear to the front panel of volume I. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
