Illustrated with twelve plates to the front of the text, with numerous in-text figures. Collated complete. The official Wisden Cricketers' Almanack, an annual publication known as the "Bible of Cricket." The text is a reference book with details of awards, records, laws and administrations in the sport for the past year, with details of English cricket and overseas cricket. This volume was issued for the year 1949 and contains articles such as: Australians at Balmoral, the England team at Lord's, Five Cricketers of the Year, Cricket Records, and India in Australia, amongst others. Edited by Hubert Preston, an English journalist and writer who was editor of Wisden Cricketers' Almanack for eight years. He contributed to fifty-one editions of the Almanack, and was the oldest editor of the publication.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities and the odd small mark to the cloth. Hinges starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot and minor age toning to the extremities.
