First edition. A companion volume to The Pursuit of Love. Set in the same time frame as her earlier novel, with Fanny remaining the fictional narrator, this novel focusses on a different set of characters. Following the story of Polly, to whom Fanny is distantly related through her father's family. Written by Nancy Freeman-Mitford, an English novelist, biographer, and journalist who was the eldest of the Mitford Sisters.

Condition

In the original red cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor rubbing to the extremities and the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with minor age toning to the endpapers.
