'The Queen's Awards, Second Series', edited by Ellery Queen, including a total of seventeen tales. The first prize tale was 'The President of the United States, Detective', by H. F. Heard. Runners-up include 'The House in Goblin Wood' by Carter Dickson, 'Tragedy of a Handkerchief' by Michael Innes, 'The Quarterdeck Club' by Leslie Charteris, and more. 

'The Evening Standard Detective Book, 2nd Series', containing a total of twenty-seven tales, including 'A Dog's Life' and 'The Furies' by Michael Innes, 'The Nine of Diamonds' by Michael Rogers, 'The Indifferent Shot' by Michael Gilbert, and more.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth bindings, in the original unclipped dust wrappers. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Small puncture mark to the front board of 'The Queen's Awards', with fading to the rear joint and tail of the spine. Light handling marks to the boards. Fading to the head and tail of the spine of 'The Evening Standard Detective Book'. 'The Evening Standard Detective Book' dust wrapper is smart with minor edge wear to the head of the spine. Spine is sunned. Handling marks to the wraps. 'The Queen's Awards' dust wrapper is worn, rear wrap is detached from the spine, with closed tears to the spine and small chips. Wraps are sunned with light handling marks. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
