He contributed to fifty-one editions of the Almanack, and was the oldest editor of the publication, and his son, Norman Preston, an English cricket journalist who began his career with the old Pardon's Cricket Reporting Agency. Condition

Volumes for the year 1949, 1950 and 1976 are bound in the original yellow cloth. Externally, sound with rubbing and light creasing to the extremities. Fading to the spines with the odd small mark to the cloth. Some curling to the extremities of 1949 and 1950. While volumes for 1951, 1952, 1978, 1979, and 1980 are bound in the original brown cloth binding. Externally, smart with minor wear to the extremities and the odd small mark to the cloth. Minor fading to the spines of 1951 and 1952. Volumes for 1978, 1979, and 1980 are bound with the original unclipped dust wrappers. Wrappers are very smart with minor wear and the odd small mark. Front hinge starting but firm to 1949 and 1952. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light spotting to the first and last few pages of 1949, 1950, Minor age toning to the extremities.
