    First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

    The first editions of eight very scarce Civil Defence manuals issued by the Home Office, describing 'measures for safeguarding the civil population against the effects of war'.

    Present here are, from the Manual of Basic Training volume I:

    Pamphlet No. 1: Ambulance Section

    Pamphlet No. 3: Warden Section

    From the Manual of Basic Training volume II:

    Pamphlet No. 1: Basic Chemical Warfare

    Pamphlet No. 2: Basic Fire Fighting

    Pamphlet No. 4: Basic Rescue

    Pamphlet No. 5: Basic Methods of Protection Against High Explosive Missiles

    Pamphlet No. 6: Atomic Warfare

    With small vignette illustrations, each of these individual pamphlets are very scarce.

    Condition

    Eight manuals in paper wraps housed in a quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards and a cotton tie. Fading to front board head. Former owner's inscription to front board head. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
