Previously owned by Ambrose Heal, with a letter to Heal from the chairman of the Edison Swan Electric Company, explaining that they are gifting the book to Heal, and is signed by the chairman. Ambrose Heal was a furniture designer who is best known for being the Chairman of the popular furniture store 'Heal's' (Heal and Son).
Illustrated with monochrome and colour vignettes and full page illustrations.
An uncommon brief history of electric lamps and light sources from the Edison Swan Electric Company Ltd. Contents includes topics such as 'Background to Discovery', 'The Lamp Makers' and 'The New Century'.
In the publisher's original cloth.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth. Externally, fading to the spine and to the tail of the boards. Light spotting to the endpapers. Internally firmly bound with clean and bright pages. The letter has the odd spot with staple rusted, and small closed tears and chips to the extremities.
